Dr Deepak Goyal graduated from Patiala, India, and received his MBBS degree in 2001. After working in the clinic, the emergency room and hospital administration in both rural and urban settings for 10 years, he pursued a residency in internal medicine and graduated from Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago. Goyal served the rural community in North Dakota and was the only physician in two counties. He was the chief of staff and medical director for the hospital, clinic, nursing home, swing bed and the emergency room. He also served as trauma medical director and cardiac rehab director. Goyal describes his experience as enlightening. He continued to establish a hospitalist program for a health care system in Iowa and Illinois after a successful implementation of the program and serving as program director. He currently lives in Rapid City, South Dakota, and is serving as a physician advisor.
