Introductory course in medical science and quality work Q1 2021 is organized by Region Skane. This onsite medical conference will be held from Jan 25 - Feb 18, 2021, at CRC - Clinical Research Center, Malmo, Skane, Sweden.

Doctor under specialist training / ST 

Conference Description:
The course, which is provided on behalf of Region Skåne, offers knowledge associate with the compulsory scientific work / quality work within the distinct specialist service and can hopefully also inspire besides research. Future specialist doctors must have enough knowledge to be able to satisfy the need for evidence-based, modern healthcare in rapid development. They must also be able to be a driving force in local quality development and R&D work.

Overall goals:
The education presents basic knowledge about medical research and quality work. Attendees are introduced to topics such as scientific theory, epidemiology, statistics, study design, ethics, and implementation. At the end of the CME course, all participants must have developed a project plan for the individual work according to scientific principles / quality work.

The goal is to equip participants with a medical-scientific approach and approach, as well as research and quality methodological devices that will be required for the specialist doctors of the future at health centers and hospitals.

Knowledge and Understanding
At the end of the course participant must know:
• the basics of scientific theory
• scientific methods in medical research
• common biostatistics concepts
• examples of different qualitative methods
• examples of questions that are suitable to answer with qualitative method
• the meaning of GRADE (Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluations)
• how to identify PICO * terms relevant to a specific research question -common structure on a scientific report/article
• the basics of improvement knowledge including some tools and prerequisites for implementation
