21st Annual Liver Disease Wrap-Up is organized by University of Michigan Health System-Department of Internal Medicine and will be held on Dec 08, 2018 at The Inn at St. John's, Plymouth, Michigan, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is family and general practitioners, gastroenterologists, internists, and other primary care providers including nurse practitioners and physician assistants interested in expanding their knowledge of clinical hepatology. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 4.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
This seminar will summarize presentations made at the 69th American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) meeting held in San Francisco in November 2018. New information regarding the management of hepatitis C, fatty liver disease, liver cancer, and complications of portal hypertension and cirrhosis will be presented. In addition, case-based discussions on the current approach to patients with hepatitis C and patients with the advanced liver disease will be provided.
At the conclusion of this seminar, participants will be able to:
• identify the latest developments in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic hepatitis B and C.
• identify the natural history and medical, endoscopic and behavioral treatment of patients with the fatty liver disease.
• implement the approach to the management of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma including the use of resection and transplantation.
• implement management of patients with cirrhosis and drug-induced liver injury.
• identify manifestations and treatment of complications of portal hypertension in patients with cirrhosis including bleeding, ascites and hepatic encephalopathy.
