Violeta B. Popov MD, PhD

Violeta Popov, MD PhD is a Director of Bariatric Endoscopy at NY VA Harbor Healthcare System(Manhattan). She received her PhD from Yale University. Her research focuses on developing minimally invasive methods such as intragastric balloons to treat obesity, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, and complications of bariatric surgery. She also studies the role of the gut microbiome in weight gain, liver disease, and methods to modulate the microbiome to help treat obesity-related conditions.
