Prof. Davide is an Associate Professor and Preclinic Coordinator who teaches first-year dental hygiene students introductory theory and clinical instrumentation. She received her Associate in Applied Science degree in Dental Hygiene from Hudson Valley Community College, a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from Queens College, and a Master of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Hunter College. In addition, she obtained a second Master of Science degree in Education from Queens College and has Permanent Certification in Education. She has over 15 years of experience in dental hygiene education and 28 years in clinical practice. Prior to NYCCT she taught at New York University’s Dental Hygiene Department as a Clinical Assistant Professor while pursuing her post-Bachelor degree education.
Prof. Davide is an active member on numerous associations and highly values “giving back” and life-long learning to continue the enhancement of the profession through active involvement in various activities such a student mentoring, volunteering, community out-reach education in addition to serving on committees in the department and college. Her interests include instrumentation, infection control and asepsis, mentoring, community service, teaching methodology and calibration. Her presentations and publications include HIV/AIDS and oral rapid HIV screening, alternative smoking forms and oral piercing and has presented at local, national and international professional events.
