Steve Mcglynn

Steve McGlynn is Specialist Principal Pharmacist (Cardiology) / Honorary Senior Teaching Fellow, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde / University of Strathclyde. Steve has worked in cardiology units for over 25 years and has a particular interest in the delivery of evidence based care to patients with heart disease and the role of pharmacists working within the multidisciplinary team. He has been involved in developing national guidelines for SIGN, national educational material for NHS Education Scotland and on local, regional and national working groups focussing on prescribing in cardiovascular medicine. Steve currently practice as a clinical pharmacist on a large cardiology in-patient unit and in heart failure and post-MI out-patient clinics. He qualified as a pharmacist prescriber in 2004. He holds an Honorary Senior Teaching Fellow position at the University of Strathclyde and also teaches on post-grad courses at Glasgow and Glasgow Caledonian Universities
