Shira Johnson MD

Dr. Shira Johnson is an Emergency Practitioner in the Chicago-land area. She is also a licensed Real Estate Broker with Baird & Warner, focusing on residential real estate for the medical community. Previously she was involved in device safety and in conducting clinical trials within the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Johnson began her career as an RN in the MICU at Jackson Memorial Hospital and then spent several years working with Dr. Margaret Fischl in the earliest days of HIV research. She later graduated from the University of Miami School of Medicine, and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

She holds board certification by ABPS in Emergency Medicine and is also boarded by the American Board of Internal Medicine. For 12 years she was an attending physician in the medical and surgical ED at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL, and conducted clinical trials through the ED and with EMS. Dr. Johnson's interest is in all aspects of emergency medicine, particularly critical care, cardiology, EMS, and the ethical aspects of practicing ED medicine.
