Peter John Dehnel MD

Dr. Peter Dehnel has been at Blue Cross since February of 2011. His current responsibilities include Medical Director for case, disease and utilization management, Chair of the Credentials Committee and a primary representative to the Corporate Appeals Committee. He is also a participating member of BlueCross’ Medical Policy Committee and Pharmacy Clinical Team. He received both his BA and MD degrees at the University of Minnesota. He then completed a pediatric residency program at the University of Minnesota Hospitals and Clinics. He is board certified in pediatrics. In addition to his roles at BlueCross, he is Co-chair of the Legislative and Public Policy Committee of Twin Cities Medical Society and Immediate past Chair of the Section on Telehealth Care of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Finally, he is a member of the Minnesota Medical Association’s Taskforce on Telehealth.
