Mission
To integrate, educate, promote research and normalize the practice of cardiovascular intervention in Latin America.
Vision
SOLACI will be the reference organization for cardiovascular intervention in Latin America. An active, transparent and dynamic organization that impacts the day to day of its members and generates high value to interventional cardiologists, local societies and industry.
History
In June 1993, a small group of Latin American interventional cardiologists, meeting at the Institute of Cardiology of Mexico, decided to create GLACI-Latin American Group of Interventional Cardiologists. GLACI is constituted as a group of friends who recognize the need to share experiences and knowledge and contribute to the development of the specialty in the countries of Latin America.
In December 1994, the group held its First International Symposium in El Calafate, Sur Argentino; in the vicinity of the Perito Moreno Glacier, it gathers about one hundred interventional cardiologists from all Latin America, the United States, Europe and Asia.
From this beginning, it grows rapidly and in 1995 the group becomes a Scientific Society, giving rise, as well, to SOLACI and in the same year the First Congress is held in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
