OVERVIEW

Psoriatic Arthritis: Understanding the Patient Experience to Improve Patient Satisfaction and Outcomes is organized by Medical Communications Media (MCM) Education and will be held during Apr 27, 2017 - Apr 27, 2018.

The target audience for this medical event is Rheumatologists, Dermatologists, and other clinicians that care for patients with PsA, including rheumatology and dermatology NPs and PAs. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 0.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Course Description:
The validated tools to assess PsA severity often do not capture what patients consider to be most important/challenging about their disease. To effectively engage patients when developing treatment plans, clinicians need information about the patients’ individual experiences with, perceptions of, and beliefs about PsA. In this “Rate the Quality” activity, you will meet three patients and rate the quality of their interactions with healthcare providers and their satisfaction with care. Faculty will discuss each case and explain how providers can improve their management of patients with PsA.

Conference Objectives are :
• Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant should be able to:
• Describe issues that patients consider as having an impact on disease severity that are not incorporated into current evaluation instruments.
• Discuss how patient beliefs about and perception of PsA affect willingness to participate in the creation of and adherence to management strategies.
• Discuss the factors that contribute to the divergence of satisfaction ratings between clinicians and patients.
• Demonstrate communication techniques to best engage patients with PsA so they can participate in an informed manner in developing management plans based on their individual clinical and psychosocial needs.

Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
