Learning Objectives:
At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
1. Review medications and lifestyle modifications that are recommended for the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease.
2. Explain recommendations from the 2017 American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association guideline for treatment of patients with hypertension.
3. Describe the evidence supporting bedtime dosing of antihypertensive medications.
4. Formulate a care plan for patients with resistant hypertension based on the 2018 American Heart Association scientific statement.
5. Apply the treatment approaches recommended in the 2018 ACCAHA cholesterol guideline to patients with hypercholesterolemia.
6. Define the evidence and role in therapy of nonstatin medications in the treatment of hypercholesterolemia.
7. Examine newer and emerging LDL-C lowering nonstatin medications by describing their mechanism of action, role in therapy, and efficacy.
8. Compare and contrast the evidence supporting the use of aspirin in primary prevention patients.
9. Examine the evidence-based CV risk reduction benefits of medications used to treat type 2 diabetes.
10. Create treatment plans that reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease in patients with hypertension and hypercholesterolemia

    Two weeks before the start of the conference: No refunds or application of registration to another program for cancellation, nonappearance or partial attendance. No refunds due to airline delays or cancellation of flights.
