What is the overview of the Part Two - Long Term Nutrition Support Monitoring CME course?
Course Description:
This fundamental two-part online CME course will address the long term monitoring of patients undergoing parenteral nutrition (PN) from discharge to home. The first will comprise discharge basics, evaluating if a patient is suitable for home parenteral nutrition, and what education to present to patients and caregivers. The second will concentrate on long term monitoring, including vitamin/mineral monitoring, biochemical monitoring, formula adjustments etc., preventing hospitalizations and tapering off therapy.
What are the objectives of the Part Two - Long Term Nutrition Support Monitoring CME course?
Course Objectives:
• Examine micronutrient needs and patient evaluation and appropriate recommendations to TPN.
• Discover potential complications that may arise with PN management and when to make adjustments.
• Plan a safe PN weaning plan when appropriate and resources to provide to patients.
