OnDemand Ophthalmology for Pediatricians, Primary Care Physicians and Other Allied Health Professionals 2024 is organized by Wills Eye Hospital.

Description:
Emphasis will be on techniques for vision screening to detect amblyopia and strabismus. Diagnosis and treatment of eye infections and the red eye in children will be discussed. New technologies to help the visually impaired will be presented.

Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Discuss important new advances in the etiologies, diagnosis, and treatment/prevention of pediatric eye diseases and strabismus.
  • Identify basic and clinical vision research that can be transformed into improved clinical care.
  • Assess the role of new technologies in the evaluation and treatment of pediatric eye diseases.
  • Describe factors that impact the effective delivery of the highest quality eye care for the pediatric patients, and patients with strabismus.
  • Identify clinical, scientific, and ethical issues confronting the profession.
  • Obtain information and tools through multiple facets to help ophthalmologists deliver high and efficient quality of care.
