Purpose:
The purpose of this activity is to enable the learner to discuss elements related to the non-opioid management of chronic pain.

Learning Outcomes:
State the significance of chronic pain in the United States.
• Describe the potential origin of opioid use disorder from the treatment of chronic pain with opioids.
• Describe how to assess patients’ pain using a comprehensive approach.
• Explain the benefits of a multimodal approach to pain treatment.
• Examine different medications and treatments for chronic pain.
