Description:
Having a medical degree doesn’t restrict you to working as a clinician! There are myriad ways that you can use your training, experience, and unique skill set in a variety of industries and job settings. Too many physicians feel disengaged or unfulfilled by conventional patient care, but are hesitant to explore nonclinical jobs or are simply unaware of the options available to them. This course explores a range of nonclinical careers, teaches you how to identify fitting career opportunities, prepares you to successfully obtain and thrive in a nonclinical role.

Course Objectives:
• Recognize ways in which skills and experiences from clinical work can be translated to non-clinical roles.
• Identify types of non-clinical job opportunities that are fitting for career goals, preferences, needs, and personal interests.
• Explore ways in which leadership skills can be applied to non-clinical careers.
• Outline an approach to transitioning to a non-clinical career or adding non-clinical work to a clinical career.
• Apply techniques to optimize resumes, networking behaviors, and interview responses for non-clinical roles.
