OVERVIEW

Migraine is among the most prevalent neurological disorders globally and a major cause of disability. As scientific understanding and therapeutic options evolve, clinicians increasingly recognize the need for personalized migraine management. Migraine is no longer approached as a uniform condition—patients differ in frequency, phenotype, comorbidities, triggers, hormonal influences, and response to therapy. Personalized care aims to match the right treatment to the right patient at the right time.

This CME activity reviews modern approaches to tailoring migraine treatment. Participants will explore how to identify migraine progression, why some patients transition from episodic to chronic migraine, and what factors—behavioral, environmental, biologic, and pharmacologic—contribute to worsening disease burden. The session emphasizes early identification of transformation risks, individualized selection of acute and preventive therapies, and strategies to minimize disability while improving quality of life.

Learners will review current therapeutic options, including triptans, gepants, ditans, neuromodulation, CGRP monoclonal antibodies, and onabotulinumtoxinA, as well as lifestyle modification and comorbidity management. By integrating clinical insights with a precision-medicine approach, this course equips clinicians to deliver effective, individualized care to migraine patients.
