Late Effects of Childhood Cancers is organized by University of British Columbia Continuing Professional Development (UBC CPD).

Description:
This online continuing medical education is for healthcare providers working in British Columbia who are interested in learning more about the late effects of childhood cancer therapy.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Define important late effects (long-term health problems) associated with adults who survived childhood cancer and their frequency
  • Identify tumour and treatment (surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy) related late effects, the systems they can effect, and their impact on survivors’ lives
  • Recognize and approach surveillance for and management of late effects associated with childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia in an adult
  • Access the resources available through the BC Cancer’s Late Effects, Assessment and Follow-up (LEAF) Clinic
  • Identify and access patient and provider resources for more information regarding late effect
