HIV Management: Clinical Case Conundrums – A Wheel of Knowledge Challenge! is organized by Healio, Vindico Medical Education.
Release Date: November 30, 2023
Expiration Date: November 29, 2024
Activity Description
There have been significant advancements in the treatment of HIV over the past few decades. Today, HIV is considered a manageable chronic condition thanks to highly effective antiretroviral therapy (ART) that can suppress the virus to undetectable levels in the blood. Recent developments in treatment include long-acting injectables, 2-drug regimens, and preexposure prophylaxis (PrEP). Yet these advances add greater complexity to treatment paradigms. In this interactive, case-based program, expert faculty provide guidance on what is new in HIV management in 2023 and explore how to incorporate new treatment strategies into clinical practice. They discuss various aspects of HIV management, including the presence of disparities in care among people living with or at risk for HIV, as well as treatment initiation for a newly diagnosed pregnant patient and switching options for patients with comorbidities. This program includes the unique, educational gaming platform, Wheel of Knowledge Challenge!
