Description:
This module will serve as a practical guide to the diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease, atypical Parkinsonism, including but not limited to Multiple System Atrophy and Progressive.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Recognize clinical signs and symptoms of Parkinson’s disease and be able to differentiate Parkinson’s disease from other types of parkinsonism including atypical, drug-induced, and functional presentations.
  • Outline diagnostic approach including neuroimaging.
  • Identify available pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment approaches for different types of parkinsonism and their application.
