Medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) is a serious complication of antiresorptive medications used for treating cancer and metabolic bone diseases. Difficulties in diagnosis, prevention and treatment exist and can lead to providers being hesitant to treat patients on these medications. This 60-minute webinar will discuss current controversies in the management of MRONJ, including review of AAOMS’s Medication-Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw – 2022 Update Position Paper. Experts will provide actionable strategies for oral and maxillofacial surgeons.

• Analyze updates from the 2022 AAOMS MRONJ Position Paper on prevalence and etiology of medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw.
• Determine available non-opioid alternatives.
