Despite being one of the most common gastrointestinal conditions, the evaluation and treatment of constipation can be challenging. Many physicians are poorly trained in the management of these patients and even some gastroenterologists find it difficult. Nevertheless, by following a systematic, pathophysiologic, and evidence-based approach, the clinician will be able to treat the vast majority of constipated patients.

This online course covers the most relevant aspects regarding constipation, ranging from the physiology of defecation to pathophysiology, investigations, treatment, and management in special situations.
