Description:
The National Academy of Medicine, formerly called the Institute of Medicine, recognized cancer survivors faced complex physical and emotional health problems, which are often unmet. As of January 2019, there were over 1.1 million cancer survivors living in Texas. This 5-part series provides an overview of cancer survivorship, including phases of cancer survivorship, current trends and models of survivorship care, and evidence-based practices to reduce long-term sequelae of cancer treatment and the enhance survivorship care delivered.

Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:
• Discuss the management of existing long-term and late effects of cancer treatment to improve patient outcomes.
• Describe risk factors, management, and outcomes of the cardiac late effects for cancer survivors.
• Understand the management of existing long-term and late effects of cancer treatment to improve patient outcomes
