Course Description:
This is the second in a series of three Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) modules that will equip nurses with the skills and knowledge needed to care for cancer patients undergoing cancer immunotherapy. In this module, participants will focus on specific immunotherapies, identify the therapy’s impact on target cells, and describe the desired treatment outcomes. In addition, this module addresses patient’s response to immunotherapy interventions, nursing strategies used to manage symptoms, and assessment approaches used to assist nurses in identifying symptoms requiring either involvement of the oncology care team or immediate evaluation of the patient and potential hospitalization.
