OVERVIEW

Virtual SLEEP 2021 is organized by Associated Professional Sleep Societies, LLC (APSS) and will be held from Jun 10 - 13, 2021.

Accreditation:
Continuing Medical Education (CME) Credit for Physicians:
SLEEP 2021 meeting activities have been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and the Associated Professional Sleep Societies, LLC (APSS). The American Academy of Sleep Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 117* AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 

Physician Assistant (PA) Credit:
PAs may claim a maximum of 117* Category 1 credits for completing this activity. NCCPA accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. To receive proof of participation from SLEEP 2021, please select “Letter of Attendance” during the registration process.

Nurse Practitioner (NP) Credit:
NPs may claim a maximum of 117* Category 1 credits for completing this activity. The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by the ACCME. Individuals are responsible for checking with the AANPCB for further guidelines. To receive proof of participation from SLEEP 2021, please select “Letter of Attendance” during the registration process. 

Technologist Continuing Education (CEC):
The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) will offer AASM Continuing Education Credits (CECs) to sleep technologists who attend SLEEP 2021. A maximum of 117* credits will be awarded. 

Maintenance of Certification (MOC):
Attendees who register and attend SLEEP 2021 Postgraduate courses have the ability to claim up to 41.25 MOC points for the following boards: The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), The American Board of Pediatrics (ABP), and The American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (ABOHNS). The AASM has applied for ABPN SA CME credits.

Amedco LLC designates this Live Activity / Enduring Material for a maximum of 117.0 Psychologist contact hours.

Description:
SLEEP 2021 will be hosted online with the support of CadmiumCD. Through this platform, attendees will have access to pre-recorded content and live sessions. Attendee access to content will last until November 30, 2021.

Live General Sessions:
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, there will be educational content blocks consisting of 2 hours and 45 minutes of live sessions in both the morning and afternoon. Sessions may be either 45 minutes or 1 hour and 45 minutes in length.

Recorded General Sessions:
While live sessions are going, recorded sessions will also be released. These sessions will be released at scheduled times. The difference is only that the presentation was previously recorded. We are still encouraging presenters to be available for questions even if they have previously recorded their presentation.

Postgraduate Sessions:
Postgraduate courses are available for purchase. There are seven different courses and can be purchased individually or as a bundle at a discounted rate. Non-attendees can also purchase postgraduate courses by going through the registration process for SLEEP 2021.

Learning Objectives:
After attending SLEEP 2021, participants should be able to: 
• Summarize relevant information on the latest sleep research and clinical practices; 
• Identify present issues or challenges in diagnosis/treatment of sleep disorders, • practice of sleep medicine or topics related to the field of sleep; 
• Integrate strategies and tools for the enhancement/advancement of sleep medicine; and 
• Recognize and discuss common sleep disorders.
