Partners for Kids-Behavioral Health Community Education Series: Use of CBT to Treat Trauma Reactions is organized by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and will be held on May 09, 2025.

Description:
This training is part of the Partners for Kids-Behavioral Health Education Series! Registration is intended for Partners for Kids providers. A Zoom link and further instructions will be sent closer to the actual training date.

This series provides participants with the opportunity to learn from internal experts in the behavioral health field. Relevant behavioral health topics and evidence-based practice tools are presented in a monthly lecture format.

Session description: This course will focus on how practitioners can utilize the CBT model of care to treat trauma and trauma symptoms in children and adolescents. Practitioners will increase their competence in treating trauma through the use of CBT case conceptualization. Additionally, practitioners will learn how to strengthen their trauma assessment skills and create a trauma-informed work environment.

Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Apply CBT modules to clients presenting with trauma.
  • create a trauma-informed work environment.
  • engage in small group activity to apply skills learned during this training.
  • Utilize strategies to improve communication among the healthcare team.
