OVERVIEW

National Pediatric Hypnosis Training Institute (NPHTI) Practical Strategies and Applications Virtual Workshop is organized by National Pediatric Hypnosis Training Institute (NPHTI) and will be held from Nov 05 - 06, 2021.

Target Audience:
Participants are required to have an active clinical license AND one of the following:
• Doctoral Degree in Medicine, Psychology, Nursing or Dentistry
• Masters Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical or Counseling Psychology
• Masters Degree in Nursing or Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (i.e. CPNP, CNS)
• Other Advanced degree clinicians (e.g. Occupational & Physical Therapists, Speech & Language Pathologists)
• Child Life Specialists holding a Doctoral, Masters, or Bachelors degree
• Full-time Interns/Residents/Fellows or Graduate Students enrolled in an accredited program leading to these clinical degrees will be accepted when they provide a letter from their department on letterhead
attesting to their current full-time status, specifying timing of training (month and year).
• MUST HAVE: completed a Fundamentals/Introductory Level 3-day Workshop Training in Pediatric Hypnosis from NPHTI, SDBP or comparable workshop training provided by any NPHTI Faculty.
• Minimum of some active clinical practice of hypnosis with children.
• Bring two clinical cases from your practice (narrative only, no longer than 1/2 to 3/4 of page, no recordings please) that you wish to discuss, get ideas, suggestions, recommendations from peers and faculty.

Accrediaition:
The Minnesota Medical Association designates this live activity for a maximum of 10.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for the Practical Strategies and Applications Virtual Workshop. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Applications have been sent to various accreditation organizations and will be updated on this page as approvals are obtained.

Description:
This intensive workshop features a combined lecture-demonstration-small group educational format with a developmental perspective in the use of clinical hypnosis & its empirically supported applications to children and teens with various medical & mental health conditions and challenges. Both research-based and pragmatic hypnotic interventions are taught.

Educational Objectives:
At the completion of the Individualized Consultation Workshop, learners will be better able to:
• Express increased clinical usage and practice of hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Child health care learners will become increasingly facile with, more competent in, and more confident with their increased use and application of hypnotic approaches, thinking, and strategies to help patients help themselves.
• Be able to put new ideas and strategies to work with their patients and clients and in so doing will both expect and discover that their patients report more comfort and less discomfort sooner and lasting longer than prior to their addition of these self-hypnotic approaches to their clinical skill sets.
• Implement new and innovative strategies beyond their prior hypnosis skill set, notably with patients and clients with common problems, and will find that these patients experience relief more quickly and lasting longer than before the addition of self-hypnosis to their clinical skills.
• Seek additional, new and evolving of additional understanding and skill development in the arena of hypnotic pain management and pain control; as well as other common disorders and their diagnosis and management with hypnosis
