Managing Dementia 2025 is organized by University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) and will be held on Apr 18, 2025.

Objectives:

  • Select tools for screening for early signs of cognitive impairment in a primary care practice.
  • Explain the importance of early identification of cognitive decline and dementia.
  • Identify appropriate interventions: non-pharmacological and pharmacological.
  • Discuss the differential diagnosis of dementia and treatment options for the most common forms of Dementia.
  • Discuss the currently available treatments for Alzheimer's disease and Lewy body disease and their impact on the disorder.
  • Discuss major research advances that may lead to improved diagnostic, treatment, and prevention efforts.
  • Describe the application of patient empowerment features to interdisciplinary Dementia support.
