Infection Prevention and Control in Dentistry is organized by University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and will be held on Oct 24, 2024.

Course Description:
The course will allow dental health care providers to be current with infection control and prevention protocols and guidelines. They will be advised on how to maintain a safe workplace environment and implement appropriate infection control measures in their practice.

They will also gain understanding of common transmissible and infectious diseases and gain insight into the appropriate immunizations to prevent such diseases.

Course Objectives:
At the completion of the course participants will be able to:

  • Be current with infection prevention recommendations by CDC and OSHA
  • Implement effective infection control measures in their practice
  • Choose appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a safe workplace environment
  • Understand current vaccination recommendations for DHCPs
  • Understand current infectious diseases that may impact the dental practice.
