Description:
This is the AAMC – Cook Ross, Inc. course on unconscious bias for healthcare professions audiences.  This evidence-based workshop will help participants explore how their assumptions impact behavior and choices around communication, patient care, innovation, hiring, promotion, education and building organizational culture.

Learning Objectives:
• Upon completion of this activity participants should be able to:
• Understand the science and research of unconscious bias.
• Identify how bias and the processes of the unconscious mind can impact critical healthcare decisions and results.
• Become aware of your own background, and its impact on your perception so you are better able to advocate for inclusion in your institution.
• Apply new strategies for practicing more conscious awareness individually and institutionally.
