OVERVIEW

UHM Journal-Based CME Volume 49, Issue 3 is organized by Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS).

Goal:
For over 45 years the UHMS has been the primary source of information for hyperbaric medicine and physiology worldwide. This evidence based, peer-reviewed scientific journal-based CME has as its goal to address identified professional practice gaps and provide a quality CME opportunity which will improve scientific knowledge and skills for undersea, hyperbaric and wound care physicians, nurses and technicians, and other clinicians and personnel whose practice includes undersea, hyperbaric medicine and wound care.

Objectives:

  • To understand the concept of cardiovascular risk assessment in divers. 
  • To understand the factors that contribute to an increased cardiovascular risk with diving. 
  • To understand which divers may benefit from a proper treatment of cardiovascular risk factors. 
  • To understand the constellation of lingering symptoms that occur after COVID-19 infection.
  • To explain possible mechanisms of action of hyperbaric oxygen treatment in relieving persistent symptoms in COVID-19 sufferers.

Physician CME: The Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society designates this journal-based activity for a maximum of 2 AMA PRA Category I Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nursing/RRT Contact Hours: 2
License types: RN, LPN, CNS, ARNP, CAN. Provided through the Florida State Board of Nursing and the CE is reciprocal for nurses in the United States. Florida nursing credits are reciprocal and approved for nurses within all states.
