Learning Objectives:
• Internalize what to and not to do at the initial visit and at follow-up visits over the lifetime of managing psychiatric disorders, working with both the patient, their family, and significant others.
• Recognize the importance of attending to the relational aspects of psychopharmacological work with diverse youth and families.
• Realize the importance of quality psychopharmacology for women and the unique considerations that must be considered when treating mental health conditions in women.
• Review the history of psychopharmacology and speculate on its future development as it bears on psychiatric practice.
