Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Evaluate medical evidence methodically by reviewing recent notable anterior segment publications
  • Evaluate and manage corneal astigmatism during cataract surgery to provide the best possible visual outcomes

  • Identify different IOLs for the treatment of cataract and refractive error
  • Analyze indications and complications of different IOLs in the treatment of cataract and refractive error
  • Incorporate femtosecond laser technology for the treatment of cataract and refractive error
  • Evaluate patients with keratoconus to determine who is an appropriate candidate for crosslinking and appropriate timing of treatment
  • Recognize and manage intraoperative complications during lamellar corneal surgery
  • Evaluate the most recent data and utility of the femtosecond laser for refractive and non-refractive corneal and lens-based surgery
