Although the Rearea Bellbird is small it can ascend the lofty heights of the Kahikatea tree .
It was a small bird that the ancestors watched as it searched for food in the forest and its flight was seen. It flies like this, it goes up and down a little bit and then it folds up, it goes up again and it goes down a little bit and then it folds up again. When they were there, they saw this bird trying hard to land on the top of the tree, that is, on the tapuhipushi, in the entrance of the kahikatea. That's why this quote was created to encourage people in an elegant way "a hobby can achieve its goal, and a person can do it".
