Morning Session:
Elaine provides and overview of the biology and genetics of oesophageal cancer, stomach cancer, small bowel cancer, pancreatic cancer, liver cancer and cancers of the biliary system. She will also explain the science behind various treatment approaches for these diseases, including relevant targeted therapies and immunotherapies as well as approaches in trials.
Afternoon Session:
Elaine provides an overview of bowel cancer biology and genetics and the science behind various treatment approaches. Treatments explained include monoclonal antibodies targeting EGFR and small molecules such as B-Raf inhibitors. She describes the reason for giving checkpoint inhibitors to selected patients and mentions other treatment approaches in trials.
