Bone Marrow Biopsy Training is organized by The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and will be held on Apr 30, 2025 at The Royal Marsden Education and Conference Centre, London, England, United Kingdom.

Description:
This course comprises of one theoretical and simulated practical day in the classroom. Participants will also gain practical experience and will be expected to successfully perform a simulated bone marrow biopsy procedure.

The training is aimed at nurses and allied health care professionals. Applicants should currently be working in a haematology setting and must be able to identify a practice supervisor within their place of work to support them.

Aims:
This study day provides an opportunity for those working in haematology to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to perform bone marrow biopsies. This course comprises of one theoretical and simulated practical day in the classroom. Participants will also gain practical experience and will be expected to successfully perform a simulated bone marrow biopsy procedure.

A limited number of additional ‘observation in practice’ sessions will be available.

Observation in Practice Session:
There will be a limited number of opportunities to undertake a separate one-day observation in practice training session at The Royal Marsden in Sutton. The day will be spent observing a nurse-led bone marrow biopsy service which will allow participants to gain a better understanding of how this is managed, and the date of the session would be arranged between the facilitator and yourself.
