AO CMF Lighthouse Course - Advanced Management of Orthognathic (with Human Anatomical Specimens) is organized by AO CMF and will be held from Oct 27 - 28, 2025 at Berlin, Berlin, Germany.

Goal:
Provide the participants with a current review of the state-of-the-art in orthognathic surgery, expanding their surgical skills, theoretical knowledge, and decision making.

Description:
Participants will enjoy a high-quality teaching activity in a modern anatomy room equipped with the most advanced facilities. During the 2 days of educational activity given by a renowned international faculty, the participants will review the state-of-the-art in orthognathic surgery techniques and indications. Discussions of problem clinical cases in open and interactive discussions will complete hands-on activities. The continuous interaction with the faculty team and the sharing of experiences among the participants will make this educational activity an enormously enriching experience.

Objectives:
fter the course, participants will be able to:

  • Assess, diagnose, and analyze facial asymmetries and malocclusion types
  • Discuss treatment options for orthodontic surgery
  • Consider virtual planning and personalized surgery for orthognathic surgery
  • Acquire the surgical skills needed to perform different maxillary and mandibular osteotomies
  • State the advantages and disadvantages of different osteosynthesis techniques
  • Prepare a treatment plan for patients with obstructive sleep apnea through orthognathic surgery
  • Prevent and manage complications that may appear in orthognathic surgery techniques
  • Gain skill sets for facial aesthetic surgery techniques complementary to orthognathic surgery
