What’s New in Toxicology? – What every acute care practitioner needs to know is organized by The University of British Columbia (UBC) and will be held on Apr 01, 2023 at UBC Medical Student & Alumni Centre (MSAC), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Overview:
The physician toxicologists at the BC Drug and Poison Centre will highlight current modifications that have been made in the management of drug overdose. A few of the programme's highlights are the presentation of challenging management cases and discussions of contentious management topics. Toxicologists will explain why each case's management is challenging, emphasise important management strategies, and focus on clinical management pearls and pitfalls.
Learning Objectives:
• Treat overdose patients with life-threatening symptoms such as hyperthermia, seizures or cardiac dysrhythmias.
• Assess when and how to administer potentially life-saving antidotes.
• Identify which drug overdose patients may benefit from the transfer.
