The Society for Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology (SIMB) Annual Meeting is organized by Society for Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology (SIMB) and will be held from Jul 30 - Aug 02, 2023, at Hyatt Regency Minneapolis, Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States of America.

Description:
This is an exciting time for science and technology development and a year of great advancement in microbial biotechnology. All of us on the program committee are looking forward to a stimulating conference, meeting new members, and having discussions with old friends and colleagues.

We start off our meeting on the afternoon of July 30th with a keynote address from Dr. Jill Zullo, the Vice President of Bio-Intermediates at Cargill. The keynote will be preceded by the Science Slam session that features numerous rapid presentations from students, postdocs, and young investigators.

Our technical program builds from the five core SIMB focus areas – Biocatalysis, Environmental Microbiology, Fermentation & Cell Culture, Natural Products, and Metabolic Engineering. The program committee has worked hard to develop a robust, cutting-edge scientific program around these areas to highlight both recent industrial successes and emerging research advances in our field. We have also planned two relevant special sessions. One is a broad session guided by BioMADE, that highlights the diversity of projects conducted by its members. The second special session focuses on the highly interesting topic of food technology. We are also excited about and looking forward to our SIMB student session and a valuable diversity session.

In addition to the technical program, we will continue the poster sessions, annual banquet, and 5K run, which are cherished traditions of the conference.

SIMB continues to have a vibrant membership and our annual program will be an excellent opportunity for networking and scientific dialogue. We strongly encourage students and young investigators to participate in poster and student oral presentation sessions.
