Knee Arthroscopy Course (May 06 - 07, 2023)

Knee Arthroscopy Course is organized by Sharjah Surgical Institute (SSI) and will be held from May 06 - 07, 2023 at University of Sharjah - Medical and Health Sciences College Campus, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

Course Objective:
• To understand the decision-making process involved in choosing the appropriate surgical approach in challenging disorders of the knee 
• To hone the motors skills of young orthopedic surgeons to familiarize themselves with basic arthroscopy setup 
• To train surgeons on basic knee arthroscopy: Loose body removal, meniscal tears synovectomy…etc.
• To explore the principles of anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, both hamstring and bone-patellar tendon-bone techniques 
• To train surgeons to do arthroscopic ACL reconstruction

Learning outcomes:
On completion the delegates should be able to:
• Identify the knee arthroscopic anatomical structures
• Be familiar with the history, principles, and setup of knee arthroscopy, as well as the related equipment & instruments
• Follow a systematic approach in performing a knee arthroscopy surgery
• Identify the indications and graft techniques for ACL reconstruction
• Perform Hamstring and BTB graft harvesting & preparation
