Italian Society of Urodynamics (SIUD) Course Detrusor Contractility: Latest Frontiers is organized by Defoe Congresses / Defoe Congressi, Italian Society of Urodynamics (SIUD) and will be held on Apr 15, 2023 at Crowne Plaza Verona - Fiera, Verona, Veneto, Italy.
Description:
Scientific Rationale Of The Course:
From lack of contractility or hypercontractility to excess or hyperactivity, up to problems of organic or functional obstruction that can alter the contractile function of the bladder detrusor. Every aspect of detrusor contractility has clinical counterparts, which can correspond to part physiological, subclinical conditions, or frankly pathological conditions.
Understanding the mechanisms of detrusor contractility can be of great help in patient management. In fact, the mere assessment of symptoms is not always decisive. Urodynamics still represents the most e ective tool for assessing detrusor contractility and allows for a more accurate diagnosis of the related clinical pictures and for clarifying complex situations. Evidently, the urodynamic investigation must be classified more and more among the second-level exams, carefully selecting the patients for whom it will be able to give the most useful answers to improve their management and therapy. In this sense, the role of urodynamics is still extremely strong. The course is aimed at specialist doctors in Urology, Gynecology, Physiatry, and Rehabilitation, but also dedicated nursing staff and rehabilitators. This scientific day, therefore, aims to address, with the most recent scientific evidence, all areas of detrusor contractility and to interpret it in a modern key as a research field, but also to analyze the relevant clinical implications.
The pathophysiological mechanisms and the most current diagnostic criteria of the various forms of detrusor contractility and associated pathological conditions will be evaluated. The main conservative, pharmacological and surgical treatments of the clinical aspects deriving from impaired detrusor contractility will also be discussed. but also to analyze the relevant clinical implications.
