Description:
The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique has been used to diagnose malignancies and congenital cardiac abnormalities for more than three decades. Since 1999, MR technology has also been shown to be effective in the treatment of ischemic heart disease. This is because it is possible to visualize myocardial infarction directly, and the number of clinically justified exams has increased tremendously. Imaging of infarcts, along with assessments of heart volume, function, and blood flow, is generally considered to be standard clinical practice. Intensive research and development effort is currently being conducted to produce perfusion tests and dependable coronary angiograms that are universally applicable and dependable. This course covers all of these subjects from the ground up and focuses on the MR physics connected to the heart and clinical applications of this technology. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the heart is an essential component of national and international recommendations for diagnosing and treating cardiac disorders.
