2023 Complex Procedures Course is organized by University of Maryland School of Medicine and will be held on Sep 07, 2023 at University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland, United States of America.
Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
Transvenous pacing:
1. List the indication and contraindication and tools needed.
2. Set up a transvenous pacer box, float a pacer wire and pace.
3. Trouble shoot a transvenous pacer malfunction.
Esophageal varices compression:
1. List the contents of a Blakemore kit and the additional tools needed.
2. Place, inflate, confirm correct position with xray and secure a Blakmore tube.
Vertigo maneuvers:
1. Know the most common causes of vertigo.
2. Know how to perform a Dix-Halpike, Epley and HINTS exam.
3. Know when to apply each maneuver.
4. Avoid unnecessary neuroimaging and hospitalization in patients with a benign cause of vertigo.
Pig tial catheter chest tube insertion:
1. Know the indications, tools and landmarks for placement.
2. Place a pig tail chest tube.
