The 95th Annual Meeting of The Japanese Pharmacological Society (JPS) is organized by Congress Corporation and will be held from Mar 07 - 09, 2022 at Fukuoka International Congress Center, Fukuoka, Fukuoka, Japan.

Overview:

Pharmacology is a broad topic that focuses on understanding life phenomena, elucidating pathological conditions, providing the foundation for drug treatment, and co-creating both basic and clinical medicine. As a basic general science, it plays a key role in smooth cooperation and makes a significant contribution to medicine and medicine through new drug development and new drug development.

Since its establishment in 1926 by a subcommittee that was the predecessor of the Japanese Medical Association, the Japanese Pharmacological Association has been held annually in the form of an academic conference. The conference provides a unique opportunity for people from various fields related to pharmacology to meet and have academic discussions as well as deepen friendships.

As a result of the worldwide COVID-19 epidemic, the 93rd meeting last year was held in the magazine, and this year's 94th meeting was a hybrid event. The current state of domestic corona infection is unpredictable, but if vaccination is carried out promptly, it is expected to be calm to some extent by the 95th time next spring, so it will be held locally. We are making preparations to hold it regularly. This year's 95th Annual Meeting was themed "Innovation Commons-Creation and Inheritance of Knowledge".

A pharmacy degree is originally aimed at understanding how drugs interact with living organisms, but with the advent of the 21st century, this concept has radically changed. While the traditional focus on synthetic compounds has led to the introduction of DNA or RNA-based gene therapy, protein preparations such as monoclonal antibodies, and iPS cell-based regenerative medicine, several molecular-targeted medications have also been developed as chemical substances has been created. These are broadening the spectrum of therapeutic options available to modern medicine and assisting in the promotion of precision medicine over evidence-based medicine, which has experienced considerable changes as a result of genetic advances.

 Basic sciences that contribute to these innovations include physiology, molecular cell biology, immunology, oncology, pathophysiology, and pathology, with the field of pharmacology serving as a place of co-creation, a kind of "innovation commons" has been created. In short, the unique contribution of pharmacology to such innovation is verification and evaluation, and the originality and originality of the evaluation tool for this purpose is to pass on the wisdom and knowledge accumulated by pharmacology to the next generation.

In order to further strengthen our position as an innovation commons in pharmacology, we hope this year's meeting will be an opportunity to continue developing exchanges with related academic societies. There are easy airline connections from all over Japan to Fukuoka, the venue, and it is a very convenient international city not only for those coming from Kyushu but also from South Korea and China.

Our goal is to offer hospitality unique to the Southwestern Society in Fukuoka, a city full of historical sites and charm as represented by Nakasu. The concept of the poster is "everyone get together," and the image that is the subject of the poster was painted by a painter with whom we are familiar.

During the 95th Annual Meeting, we hope to overcome the situation where we were unable to gather due to Corona infection, and revitalize the Pharmacological Society. As we look forward to our meeting in Fukuoka next March, we hope that we can work together to make it a productive academic meeting.
