Theme: Developing a Professional Identity

Description:
The purpose of this annual meeting is to educate and share information that will enable anesthesia educators to provide the highest level of education and improve patient outcomes.
Opportunities for questions and answers will be provided at the conclusion of each presentation.

Learners will acquire skills to become more effective educators of medical students and resident physicians and to produce graduates who meet the differing expectations of the various education stakeholders.

Overall Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
• Recognize the diversity of identities being integrated into our field.
• Develop strategies to facilitate the integration of a range of identities into our collective professional identity.
• Describe the political, economic, and social forces that will shape our collective professional identity.
• Develop strategies to anticipate a collective professional identity that will accommodate the external forces shaping it.
