Description:
The presentation will include new information on the management of hepatitis B/C, fatty liver disease, portal hypertension, and complications of cirrhosis. A case-based discussion on the current treatment of patients with hepatitis advanced liver disease, portal hypertension, and other patients will also be presented. Participants will learn how to identify and treat portal hypertension complications after completing the activity.
Learning Objectives:
The participant should be capable of the following:
• Learn the most recent developments in treating and diagnosing chronic hepatitis B/C.
• Identify the medical, endoscopic, and behavioral treatment for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease patients.
• Assess and manage patients who have cirrhosis or autoimmune liver disease.
• Identify and treat portal hypertension in cirrhosis patients, including ascites and liver encephalopathy.
• Identify recent changes in liver allocation, indications, and outcomes for liver transplantation.
