Description:
The success and predictability of dental implants has been well documented in the literature. However, complications of varying degrees do occur in different phases. Intraoperative complications include injuries to surrounding structures such as nerves, blood vessels, sinus and teeth. Successfully integrated implants can also develop infections with subsequent loss of alveolar bone. Prostheses constructed on dental implants may also develop complications, which may lead to loss of function and/or esthetic impairment. Following comprehensive evaluation and treatment planning, appropriate treatment modalities can be utilized to manage complications surrounding dental implants.
Upon successful completion of this course, attendees will be able to:
• Diagnose various kinds of implant complications
• Recognize proper timing of intervention
• Select appropriate treatment modalities to manage complications
Additional details will be posted as soon as information is available.
