Health Delivery and Technology in Today's Diabetes Care is organized by University of Michigan Health System (UMHS) and will be held on Apr 06, 2019 at The Inn at St. John's, Plymouth, Michigan, United States of America.
Target Audience :
This half-day course is intended for primary care physicians, internal medicine physicians, endocrinologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, diabetes educators, registered dietitians, diabetic nurses, residents in internal medicine, endocrinology fellows, and other health care providers who care for patients with diabetes and prediabetes.
Accreditation:
The University of Michigan Medical School designates this live activity for a maximum of 4.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

At the end of this activity, participant should be able to:
• apply most recent evidence-based findings and current guidelines to optimize glucose and risk factor control in the management of patients with type 2 diabetes.
• review socio-economic factors and barriers in reaching and maintaining glucose control in patients with diabetes.
• understand facts and best strategies for the use of diabetes technologies in daily diabetes practice, that support cost-effective, remote strategies to deliver diabetes care and involve patients in making guided self-care management decisions.
• discuss how to manage diabetes in the obese patients.
• review links between hyperglycemia and bone density, how to screen for bone health, and the impact of diabetes medications on bones.
• discuss practical and novel skills to timely diagnose diabetes eye complications and apply targeted prevention and treatment options.
• review the diagnosis and management of foot complications in a cost-effective approach.
