Overview:
The APD Annual Meeting is a two-day CME activity providing sessions that focus on problems and solutions related to success in academic dermatology. This meeting serves as the central gathering place for sharing experiences and ideas, common interests and concerns, developing common solutions, and learning from one another. Plenary sessions were designed for all attendees. Breakout and concurrent specialty tracks were designed for specific sections.

Description:
The Association of Professors of Dermatology (APD) was established in 1960 by leading educators in dermatology. Members are physicians and administrators from Dermatology Departments or Sections in accredited Medical Schools and Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine and freestanding programs from the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada: Department Chairs, Division Chiefs, Residency Program Directors, Fellowship Directors, Dermatologic Surgery Division Leaders, Dermatologic Surgeons, Dermatopathologists, Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine, Medical Dermatologists, Pediatric Dermatologists, Hospitalists, Administrators and Coordinators.

The initial purpose of the organization-which remains much the same today-was the promotion of medical education, research, and patient care, particularly in undergraduate and graduate dermatology training programs.

The APD Annual Meeting is a two-day CME activity, provided via a live symposium, using didactic and interactive instructional methods, and designed to:
• advance educational and patient care standards.
• provide forums and networking opportunities for the exchange of information on academic dermatologic issues.
• foster the development of existing and new faculty.
• develop support strategies for academic dermatology.
• monitor dermatologic person power needs for both academic centers and clinical practice.
• provide ethical leadership in the dermatologic community.

Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
