Identify, Test, and Treat: Making Strides Toward TB Elimination Course is organized by Rutgers - The State University of New Jersey and will be held on Jun 19, 2018 at Pennsylvania Medical Society, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is physicians, nurses, and public health professionals who manage patients at risk for or diagnosed with TB infection or disease. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 6 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Conference Description:
This conference will provide updates of current diagnostic and treatment modalities for TB infection and TB disease, appropriate tests to aid in the diagnosis and management of TB disease, and window prophylaxis for children. The format will include lectures with discussion, and case studies.
Reducing the burden of TB requires a multidisciplinary approach which relies on knowledge of local epidemiology, populations at risk and successful interventions. This conference will provide updates for treatment options for TB infection and TB disease. It will also promote networking among colleagues, resource sharing and collaborations with partnering agencies.
Conference Objectives are :
• List at least two key trends in tuberculosis incidence, risk factors and disease type in Pennsylvania.
• Implement current recommendations to increase treatment completion among patients with TB infection (TBI).
• Outline the benefits of IGRA testing in relation to identifying and treating TB infection.
• Select the diagnostic tests appropriate for screening, diagnosing TB disease and monitoring TB treatment.
• Integrate recommendations for prevention and management of TB in children and adolescents.
• Explain the implications of travel restrictions and the challenges for TB management and care among mobile populations.
