Breast Health Global Initiative (BHGI) Global Summit 2018 is organized by Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and will be held from Oct 15 - 17, 2018 at Seattle Marriott Waterfront, Seattle, Washington, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is Clinicians and governmental health care agencies, Public health researchers, Advocacy, non-governmental, non-profit and for-profit organizations.
Course Description:
In May 2017, the 70th World Health Assembly adopted the resolution “Cancer prevention and control in the context of an integrated approach” calling on the WHO Director-General to leverage the work of other organizations “to develop or adapt stepwise and resource-stratified guidance and toolkits in order to establish and implement comprehensive cancer prevention and control programmes.”
In response, the Breast Health Global Initiative (BHGI) invites your organization to join the BHGI Alliance, a public/private partnership, to develop a systematic, evidence-based, phased implementation framework, to translate resource-stratified guidelines into practice as part of its Sixth Global Summit on International Breast Health.
SUMMIT GOALS:
• Examine the current state of scientific understanding regarding successful models of breast cancer diagnosis and care delivery, resource utilization, patient management, and barriers to implementation.
• Define phased implementation strategies for early diagnosis, treatment and supportive care that optimize value for resources used and improve patient access, treatment quality, and information transfer within existing systems.
• Identify unanswered research questions that can help improve implementation of evidence-based strategies for breast health in diverse settings.
• Develop implementation tools and metrics for mapping context-specific breast care pathways onto existing healthcare systems and
• Synthesize and disseminate findings from this conference as adaptable recommendations and implementation tools for improving breast health care in underserved regions around the world.
